When Keystone first debuted the Walkabout travel trailer last year, we were enthralled with its striking exterior and innovative interior. But this year, the brand is taking that model in a new direction, dropping some of the hunting and fishing-specific features in favor of a design that should appeal to a wider audience, all while still keeping build quality extremely high. The latest edition to the Walkabout family is the Keystone Walkabout 221FROST, and while it may not be quite as eye-catching as its siblings, it still has plenty of appeal.

The video above takes us on a tour of this intriguing new addition to the Keystone catalog. As you’ll quickly notice, this floor plan drops the black and orange exterior that was so prominent on the original in favor of a more traditional white exterior with gray and black accents. But the rig retains the auto-grade aluminum, wood-free walls, rugged Curt suspension, and copious amounts of storage. It also does away with the larger slide-out with the massive window, which was a signature feature of previous models. Instead, you get a more modest-sized slide with a booth dinette and a much smaller window, albeit one that is less likely to create issues with cooling and heating, or have potential future issues with leaking.
Inside, there are plenty of nice features to make this rig attractive to active outdoor enthusiasts and growing families. The primary sleeping area is found at the front of the trailer and includes a Murphy bed that folds away to reveal a couch when not in use. Two double bunk beds are located in the rear, where you’ll also find the bathroom that includes a spacious shower. The kitchen is located in the middle and comes with a three-burner stove, a large single-basin stainless steel sink, convection microwave, and a 12V refrigerator. An outdoor kitchen, a massive pass-through cargo bay, and a rear gear garage with room for two bikes are also part of the package.

As you’ll see in the video, there are plenty of other features to surprise and delight, like a heated and enclosed underbelly with 12V tank pad heaters, all-terrain tires, electric stabilizing jacks, and an outdoor kitchen. What you’ll find is a travel trailer that offers plenty of versatility for your most active adventure, while still retaining much of the spirit and craftsmanship found in the original Walkabout model.
Sit back, relax, and hit play on the video above. Then, head over to the Keystone website to learn more about the Walkabout 221FROST travel trailer.
